Flipkart Forays Into Healthcare Sector With New Flipkart Health+ App

Flipkart Health+, the digital healthcare platform under Flipkart, has introduced the Flipkart Health+ app. After acquiring a majority stake in SastaSundar, an online pharmacy platform, in 2021, Flipkart has transformed it into Flipkart Health+. The platform’s goal is to cater to customers across 20,000 PIN codes in India, offering convenient access to quality medicines through the app. With a network of over 500 independent sellers, Flipkart Health+ collaborates with registered pharmacists for the validation of medical prescriptions. Currently available for download on Android, the app is anticipated to launch on iOS in the near future.

Flipkart Health+ aims to facilitate access to medicines and healthcare products through independent sellers on its app. Prashant Jhaveri, CEO of Flipkart Health+, expressed, “Through Flipkart Health+, we aim to address the crucial gap in accessibility to genuine medicines and healthcare products and services across the country, especially in remote areas that have been underserved until now. We want to harness technology to strengthen the healthcare ecosystem, making healthcare more accessible even for those in distant parts of the country, contributing to a healthier India.”

Collaborating with SastaSundar’s healthcare network nationwide, Flipkart Health+ plans to redirect users from SastaSundar.com to the Flipkart Health+ homepage. The company intends to partner with third-party healthcare service providers in the coming months to expand its offerings, including teleconsultation and e-diagnostics.

The Flipkart Health+ app is currently accessible on Google Play for Android users, with plans for an imminent launch on iOS.
